Hello there and thank you for coming to my website!
I’m Brian, a professional artist from Alberta, Canada. I started painting in 2014 during the cold Canadian winters while in university. What seemed like something to just try for fun quickly grew into much more; it became a passion. Shortly after starting to paint, people started contacting me to purchase my artwork. I was thrilled and quickly realized my passion influenced those around me.
I currently teach Art at the local junior high school where I live. I love helping inspire young artists in their creative journey. They are also an inspiration to me. This opportunity has given me the chance to learn the more technical side of art while teaching it.
If you want to read more about what inspires my work and about me then keep on reading! If not, I invite you to check out my gallery of paintings. There you will find both acrylic paintings on canvas and mixed media artworks that combine pyrography and acrylic painting. They are truly one of a kind.
Various originals and prints are available. As well as custom work upon request.
Creating art for me is a journey. Each blank canvas or piece of wood is an opportunity. With each brush stroke, I can create a scene that a viewer can get lost in. The painting seems to be a living experience that I, as the painter, get to experience as I create it. My goal as an artist is to help others enjoy the fine arts and hopefully create something that they are moved by.
You can also find me on many social media platforms! Look under the “Connect With Me” to the right to follow those buttons to my different pages.
Growing up and living in Alberta, I can enjoy many different aspects of nature. For those who don’t know, we have the prairies, the badlands, the rolling foothills, and the Rocky Mountains. Each of them has unique qualities that make them fascinating and beautiful. At a young age, I wanted to capture this beauty so I started taking photographs. I loved taking pictures of even the smallest flowers or plants because I found them so eye-catching. This has now grown into my artwork. I find painting these landscapes even more enjoyable than just taking photographs. Creating a scene that lives and represents a place that I love brings me a lot of joy.
When I was nineteen years old, I went on a mission for my church, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, to Italy. I grew to absolutely love the culture and the people. While there, I was able to see some spectacular places such as Rome, Vatican City, Sicily, Florence, Mount Vesuvius and so much more. I was also able to see amazing works of art such as Caravaggio’s “The Entombment of Christ” and Michelangelo’s “Last Judgement”. In every museum or Catholic church, there were large statues, stained glass windows, and enormous paintings and frescos. Little did I know at the time, but these would influence my desire to start painting a couple of years later.
In 2015 I met the love of my life while going to university in Lethbridge, Alberta. We married the next year and now have two wonderful kids. Balancing my family life, teaching, and volunteering with my church doesn’t leave a ton of time for creating. However, I have become very good at time management over the years and still can make time to create almost every day. Creating art has become a way of life and I couldn’t imagine my life without it!
Once again, thanks for visiting my website, check out my news page to see what I’m up to. And don’t hesitate to send me a message if you have any questions or just want to talk art!
