Description
ORIGINAL PAINTING INFORMATION
This is a mixed media piece of Chief Mountain in Montana, U.S.A. However, this view is from the Alberta, Canada side. It is both wood burned and acrylic painted on a piece of pine wood that ranges in size from 7×11 inches to 24×36 inches.
Growing up in Southern Alberta, Chief Mountain has been an iconic piece of my life. I have had the privilege to climb it twice. Both times were well worth the effort!
The artwork is made to order. The processing time is 2-8 weeks. This time mainly depends on the size of painting ordered. Smaller paintings take 2-3 weeks while larger paintings take 4-8 weeks.
My process to make these pieces is as follows:
- Draw on the lines with pencil
- Burn in the lines with a wood-burning tool
- Paint in the spaces with acrylic paint
- Burn the edges of the wood with a torch
- Seal the piece with a clear gloss covering
You can watch the time-lapse video where I show the whole process of a different painting but the same style:
