Description

Original Painting Information

This is an original acrylic painting on a 30×48-inch gallery-wrapped canvas. It is framed in a black float frame and is ready to hang. If purchasing the original painting, it comes framed. 

The journey of this painting is a little interesting. I had wanted to paint a picture of Christ for a very long time (I have been painting for 10 years now at the time of completing this one) but it just wasn’t working out. I tried once but didn’t really get too far into it. I stuck with my animals and landscapes that I was enjoying quite well. I honestly didn’t think I would ever try painting a person. However, something made me want to try again to paint Christ. This time I decided I would have the patience and really focus on it. I knew I would mess up (which I did plenty). It took about two months to complete but I couldn’t be happier with the result.

I have been a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints basically my whole life. I served a mission for this church in Italy for a couple of years after high school. To say that Christ has had a hand in my life would be an understatement. I wanted the feeling of the painting to portray his majesty but do so with a certain softness. The intense sunset colours and robes  I think portray his power but the soft sand and reflection just tone the intensity down in a way to portray things how I wanted.

Print Information:

Since the original painting is 30×48 inches, the exact proportional smaller sizes aren’t necessarily the traditional sizes you would think. They are as follows:

10×16, 25×24, and 20×32.

If you would like to purchase more traditional sizes, part of the top and bottom of the painting will be cut off. Now this doesn’t cut off anything really important, however, I wanted to make you aware of this. You can see in the image below or the product images above what the printed painting will look like compared to the original. The more traditional sizes available are as follows:

8×12, 12×18, 16×24, 20×30, and 24×36

5×7 Greeting Card Prints are available as well. These are a regular card that opens up. The back of the card has my logo and website on the bottom. They fit in 5×7 frames.

WHY CHOOSE GICLÉE:

Giclée prints have a superior printing quality to lithographs. They have greater color matching, better contrast, use archival grade ink and media, and greater resolution. Apart from the texture paint provides on the top of a canvas, giclée prints are pretty well indistinguishable from original paintings.

 

FRAMING TIPS:

Fine Art Paper and Rolled Canvas Prints are good for regular frames.

Stretched Canvas Prints are good to be hung by themselves, in float frames, or in a regular frame for a more modern style.

-Please allow for 2-4 weeks for the prints to arrive.
