ORIGINAL PAINTING INFORMATION
This is a mixed media piece of Lake Louise, Alberta. It is both wood burned and acrylic painted on a piece of pine wood that ranges in size from 7×11 inches to 24×36 inches.
This piece was inspired by a photo I took this summer while my wife and I were visiting Banff National Park. This, along with Lake Moraine, might be perhaps the most famous lake in all of Canada and its beautiful turquoise color did not disappoint.
This painting is made to order so it will differ slightly from the photo above. The processing time from the order is 2-8 weeks. This depends mainly on the size of painting ordered. Small paintings usually take 2-3 weeks while large paintings take 4-8 weeks.
The artwork may differ slightly from the images above as each artwork is made to order.
The photos above are of the 7×11 inch version.
My process to make these pieces is as follows:
- Draw on the lines with pencil
- Burn in the lines with a wood-burning tool
- Paint in the spaces with acrylic paint
- Burn the edges of the wood with a torch
- Seal the piece with a clear gloss covering
Or you can watch the time-lapse video here where I show the whole process in about 5 minutes!
Reproductions of this piece can be done on larger pieces of wood. Of course, they would differ slightly from this piece but it can be done.
