ORIGINAL PAINTING INFORMATION
This is a mixed media piece of Lake Moraine, Alberta. It is both wood burned and acrylic painted on a piece of pine wood that ranges in size from 7×11 inches to 24×36 inches. This piece was inspired by a photo I took this summer while my wife and I were visiting Banff National Park. This may be perhaps the most famous lake in all of Canada and its beautiful turquoise colour did not disappoint.
This art is made to order. The processing time is 2-8 weeks. This time mainly depends on the size of painting ordered. Small paintings take 2-3 weeks and larger paintings take 4-8 weeks.
My process to make these pieces is as follows:
- Draw on the lines with pencil
- Burn in the lines with a wood-burning tool
- Paint in the spaces with acrylic paint
- Burn the edges of the wood with a torch
- Seal the piece with a clear gloss covering
Or you can watch the time-lapse video here where I show the whole process in about 8 minutes!
