ORIGINAL PAINTING INFORMATION

This is a mixed media piece of the lighthouse in Peggy’s Cove, Nova Scotia. It is both wood burned and acrylic painted on a piece of pine wood that ranges in size from 7×11 inches to 24×36 inches.

Though I have never been to Peggy’s Cove, I loved the bright red colour on top and how much it made it stand out. Maybe one day I’ll see it in person!

The reference photo for this art is from Pixabay.

The processing time from the order date is 2-8 weeks as the artwork is made upon receiving the order. This time depends mainly on the size of the painting ordered. Smaller ones take around 2-4 weeks, while larger ones take 4-8 weeks.

The finished product may vary slightly from the photos above as each artwork is made to order.

My process to make these pieces is as follows:

1. Draw on the lines with pencil
2. Burn in the lines with a wood-burning tool
3. Paint in the spaces with acrylic paint
4. Burn the edges of the wood with a torch
5. Seal the piece with a clear gloss covering

Reproductions of this piece can be done on larger pieces of wood. Of course, they would differ slightly from this piece but it can be done. Contact me if you would like more information about that.
