ORIGINAL PAINTING INFORMATION

This is a mixed media artwork depicting Spirit Island in Maligne Lake, Jasper National Park, Alberta, Canada . It is both wood burned and acrylic painted on a piece of pine wood that ranges in size from 7×11 inches to 24×36 inches.

The Rockies in Alberta are such a special place. I love the lakes and their beautiful colours. Maligne Lake, in Jasper National Park is one of the main sites to see while there!

The art is made to order so the processing time is 2-8 weeks from the date of the order. This time depends mainly on the size of painting ordered. Small paintings take 2-3 weeks while larger paintings take 4-8 weeks.

The final product may vary slightly from the photos above as it is made to order but it will be as close as possible to the original.

The photos above are of the 7×11 inch version.

My process to make these pieces is as follows:

1. Draw on the lines with pencil
2. Burn in the lines with a wood-burning tool
3. Paint in the spaces with acrylic paint
4. Burn the edges of the wood with a blow torch
5. Seal the piece with a clear gloss covering
