Teemill Review – What Is It? – How To Use It? – My Review
Selling products online has now become the norm. Many of us only shop for certain products online and don’t even bother stepping foot in a store. With access to shopping at our fingertips, this has increased the amount of overall production of products in the world which in turn results in many more products going to landfills when we are done with them.
In the art and design world, print-on-demand is continuing to grow at an increasing rate. If you don’t know what print-on-demand is, it basically is putting your artwork on products such as clothing, prints, furniture, etc. and selling it. Check out my article/video about print-on-demand here: https://briansloanartist.com/what-is-print-on-demand/. There are many companies that produce and ship the products for you so you don’t have to worry about that part of it.
Here we will discuss one of these companies going the extra mile to make themselves stand out in the print-on-demand world. As you can see in the title, we will be talking about Teemill. I will go through a variety of questions and hopefully answer everything you need to know about Teemill.
If you plan to sign-up for Teemill, I will include my affiliate throughout if you would like to use it to sign-up! Here it is: https://teemill.com/?aff=briansloanartist

What is Teemill?
Teemill is a unique print-on-demand style company. They are based on the Isle of Wight in the United Kingdom. What makes Teemill special is that each of its products is made so that it can be sent back to Teemill when it is worn out or the customer is done using it so that it can be made into new products. Much of what is produced in our modern-day is just destined to sit in a landfill. Teemill has focused on creating a circular approach to this by being able to recycle any product that they make back into something new again.
If you would like to read more about this process, here is their official page describing it: https://teemill.com/how-it-works-teemill/
If you would like to watch and see how some of their products are actually made, check out this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zCD_bssV4ak
I don’t know of any other print-on-demand company that is like this. I know that some do promote their environmentally-friendly production habits but none go as far as being able to physically recycle their own products and turn them into new ones. This is remarkable and something that I am a big supporter of.
They also boast five times higher conversion rate than the industry average.
Who can sell on Teemill?
Anyone can sell on Teemill! If you already have your own brand or mercy, you can simply upload your designs to a template and get going. If you are considering building a brand or are an artist that can put your work onto products, this is a great place to do that!
What can I sell on Teemill?
On Teemill you can sell many different types of print-on-demand products. This isn’t a platform to sell original artwork.
Here is a list of types of print-on-demand products that Teemill offers:
- Men’s Clothing
- Women’s Clothing
- Kid’s Clothing
- Puzzles
- Art Prints
- Stickers
- Tote Bags
Their selection of print-on-demand products is not as large as some other companies, but how they are made and their ability of them to be easily recycled into new products make up for the smaller inventory.
Is there a commission fee on Teemill?
Many platforms charge a commission fee when something is sold. Since Teemill is a print-on-demand style platform, they don’t necessarily charge a commission fee but they do have a base fee for all of their products.
Here are a few examples of base fees:
-Men’s Basic T-Shirt – £14.50
-Men’s Crewneck Sweater – £29.50
-Woman’s Hoodie – £34.50
-Woman’s Joggers – £30.00
-12×16 Art Print – £14.00
-8×10 Art Print – £10.20
These aren’t the cheapest print-on-demand products that I have seen, but they also aren’t the most expensive. They are slightly more than the cheapest that I have seen but still a good base price. In my article “What Is Print-On-Demand? Is It Worth It? Which One Should I Choose?”, I give some examples of other base prices. The art prints and t-shirts are actually about the same base price on Redbubble.
What are the types of accounts on Teemill?
On Teemill there are two different accounts. There is the Basic and the Teemill Pro.
Let’s go through some of the differences:
Basic | Pro |
Free | £10/month |
Teemill is included in the shop URL | Custom URL’s |
Access to dozens of products | More products available |
Limit of 30 products | 999 Products |
Custom Pricing | Custom Pricing |
Email Marketing Opportunities | |
Exclusive AI Mockups | |
Send Push Notifications |
These are just a few of the differences between the accounts. I encourage you to check out the page on their website that lists all of the differences. Check it out here: https://teemill.com/teemill-plans/
If you want to try out the interface of Teemill, you can do so for free. Considering everything you get for the Pro account, I don’t think £10 is actually that bad of a price. This can be your one-stop-shop for everything you need in a print-on-demand service.
Can I control my profits on Teemill?
Yes, you can control your profits on Teemill. There is a little slider that you can move when editing your products that allows you to set your markup for that item. Here is a screenshot of it.
The price in black to the left is the price that the customer will pay. The price in blue is your profit. As you move the slider to the right, your profits and the price the customer pays increase.
When and how do I get paid on Teemill?
Let’s first answer how you will get paid through Teemill. Teemill pays its users through PayPal. Even with cross-border payments, it is free so you receive all the profits you deserve.
When an order is made, payment is scheduled for thirty days later. This gives customers a chance for returns or exchanges before payments are sent out.
How do I create an account on Teemill?
Click on “Login” in the top right-hand corner of the Teemill page, or click on the menu in the top-left of the screen and click on “Sign Up”. From there you will be taken to a page where you can create a name for your store. Simply follow the steps through the process and your account will be made!
How do I upload a product on Teemill?
You will see the “Product” tab on the left-hand side of the webpage once your account is made. Simply click on that and you will be taken to a new page where you can upload your work.
If you would like to watch the full process of uploading work, please watch the video at: 15:05
How do I edit a product on Teemill?
To edit a product on Teemill, start by clicking on the “Products” tab on the left-hand side of the screen. From there, click on “My Products”. You will then see all of your products on a new page. Click on the one you want to edit. This will take you to a quick edit page. If what you need to edit is on this page, then you are good to go. If you scroll down, at the bottom there is another edit button that you can click on to edit the product fully.
You can watch this process in the video above at this time: 19:54
What happens when I sell a product on Teemill?
You will receive an email notification when you sell a product on Teemill. However, since Teemill is a print-on-demand company, you don’t have to do anything! They will produce and ship the product directly to the customer for you. You will receive your payment thirty days from the order date.
How do customers send their products back to Teemill?
Once you are done with a product that you have purchased from Teemill, you simply scan the QR code that is attached to the product. This will give you a free shipping label that you can use to ship the product back to Teemill.
Once you send a product back, you will receive a £5 coupon to use on your next purchase. So instead of just throwing out a worn-out t-shirt, send it back in and receive a £5 coupon! This is all a part of the circular production system that Teemill supports.
What promotional/marketing opportunities are there on Teemill?
Teemill gives you many tools to help promote and market your products. Once you have an account, you can click on the menu in the top left and select the marketing tab. There you will see options such as pasta, mail, drive, stats, events, push, and Teerank. Each of these is a built-in tool to help you succeed with your shop.
Since Teemill isn’t a platform where customers come to search and purchase items, Teemill doesn’t have any pay-for-promotion type deals. They give you the tools that will help with the custom site they help you build.
Does Teemill have good customer service/help pages?
Yes, Teemill does have good customer service and help pages. On each page, there are FAQs specific to what that page is dealing with at the bottom of the page. Also on many of the pages, there are blog articles and videos that pertain to the topic of that page. Many of these resources are not only good to help you with Teemill, but they can also help you with marketing online in general.
Teemill is also great because if you contact them with a question or problem, you will actually get a response from a real person. There are many platforms that simply don’t respond to their users.
Here is a link to the main FAQ page: https://teemill.com/store-help/
Does Teemill have an affiliate program?
Yes, Teemill has an affiliate program. I am actually one of the first ones to be using the affiliate program and have been in contact with their affiliate manager over zoom and email. I love the setup of it. Very simple and easy to understand. You can customize your affiliate link which is nice.
I have been a part of many affiliate programs with many different websites. Some give good rewards while others do not so much. Teemill’s affiliate program is very good in my opinion. Here is how it works. Right now they pay £10 cash for each successful store. This is signup that launched their store and sold something worth £19. You can track signups and successful stores in your stats, to tune your referrals to maximize the quantity and quality of accounts created and profits received. If you continue to bring sign-ups to the platform, going forward you will earn 1% revenue for every item that the store sells for the remainder of its life.
Again, this is a great affiliate program. Some others that I have seen only give credit to being used on the platform itself. Others, such as ArtPal, only last for one year and then you stop receiving affiliate commission.
You can apply for it here: https://teemill.com/affiliate-marketing-program-uk-sustainability/
Have I sold anything on Teemill?
I have only been with Teemill for about a month so I haven’t sold anything yet. In that time, I have worked on setting up my shop but still have some finishing touches I need to add.
What do I think of Teemill?
Here is my overall Teemill review. I think Teemill is a solid print-on-demand option for artists and brands looking to sell their work. I really like their efforts in becoming a sustainable option for artists and designers to use.
Their platform is slightly more complex to use than some others. This is simply because you must basically create your own website/e-commerce shop. There are many other websites where you can just upload products and they have an automatic gallery or shop for you. With Teemill, you must make your own. They do give you templates and help along the way. And this also gives you more customizing power than many other platforms so you can make your shop really match your brand.
The rest of the website is actually quite easy to use. I like their product uploading page. It is very straightforward, has a lot of editing features, provides AI mockups, and is all on one page.
Since Teemill isn’t a platform where customers can come to and search for items, you must drive traffic to it yourself. Teemill does provide you SEO help and plugins such as Google Analytics in order to assist you in driving traffic. On their website, it says “Our higher overall profitability is due to a combination of SEO-friendly stores and high e-commerce conversion rate, combined with positive per-item margins.”
For someone looking to sell original artwork such as paintings, drawings, or sculptures, Teemill obviously isn’t the website for you.
If you are wanting your own E-commerce shop that has your own domain name and drop-ships everything, Teemill Pro is a good option.
Again, if you would like to sign up for Teemill, I would love it if you use my affiliate link! https://teemill.com/?aff=briansloanartist

Nearly a year from this review I would be keen to see a follow up.
Sold a couple of things. But I haven’t put any advertisement to it. I mainly stick to my own website for selling stuff.
Great post! I’ve been trying to find out if Teemill charges the seller for the shipping and production costs when a customer purchases any item like other POD companies do. I’m hoping not as that is a deal breaker for me at the present. I don’t see it mentioned anywhere on their site.
