Initial Thoughts:

When reading about this desk lamp I was impressed with the specs of it. The ability to change from white light to incandescent and a combo piqued my interest.

Upon receiving the package, as always with products from Anthrodesk, I was impressed with the efficiency of how it was packaged. No pieces were jumbling around and everything was secure.

Being an artist and a teacher, good lighting at my workspace is important. I hoped this would live up to my expectations.

Assembly:

The assembly of the desk lamp was extremely simple. It comes in three different parts:

  1. The light fixture
  2. The base
  3. The power cord

All you simply have to do is insert the light fixture into the base, attach the power cord, and plug it in!

Review:

Overall this is a nice desk lamp. The ability to maneuver the light is a very nice ability. Four parts of this lamp can flex or rotate in order to give you a huge range of mobility. Being an artist, this is awesome as I can adjust the lamp to best shine light on the area that I am working on. This will definitely increase my productivity.

The brightness of the light is great. Being able to adjust the brightness is also a nice touch as many lamps I have used in the past don’t have this capability. The three different modes are white light, incandescent light, and a combo of the two. Being an artist, white light is important to me so I am impressed with the white light ability of this lamp.

I like that it has a USB charging port, however, in terms of style/design, I think the placement of this port and the port for the power cord was poorly chosen. I understand that there are no electrical components in the base so these ports needed to be on the upper light fixture, but I think incorporating the ability to have the ports in the back or side of the base would make the design of this product even better.

Overall though, I do like the look of the rest of the light. It is a sleek and simple design. The touch buttons are responsive and simple to use.

The base is nice and sturdy and well built. The stiffness of the moving parts is fairly good to be able to hold the lamp in the place that you want while still making it easy to adjust. However, I feel like the part where the LED lights are is a little flimsy. Right from taking it out of the box, that piece is already jiggling a bit which makes it seem like it could just fall out eventually. This may just be my lamp, however, and not all of them.

Final Thoughts:

Overall I do believe this is a good desk lamp. It is simple, sleek, and bright. With a few adjustments to the design and quality of build, I believe this could be a 5-star product. If you are looking for something simple yet capable of a little bit more, I would suggest this product. The versatility alone was a major selling point for me!

As an artist, this will increase my productivity since it is so adjustable and will help me have better lighting on what I am working on. Less eye strain is always a goal of mine for healthy living. I will definitely be using this lamp when I film videos as the adjustability will make it very easy to use.
